Louis Jones is Mayor of Virginia Beach. He previously served as Vice Mayor of Virginia Beach from 2002 to 2018 and served as Mayor from 1982 – 1984. He currently represents the Bayside District and is running for re-election for that seat, which is elected citywide.
Louis Jones has served as Council Liaison and/or Chairman on many committees, Including the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, the Virginia Beach Development Authority, the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Water Task Force Commission, the Oceana Land Use Conformity Committee, the Town Center committee and countless others.
Louis Jones has championed many of the successes of Virginia Beach, including the Lake Gaston Pipeline, the protection of the “green line” and open space designations, the protection of water quality along our shores and waterways, bringing new industry and jobs to Virginia Beach, and protecting the fiscal soundness of our city finances and budgets.
Louis Jones is a member or Bayside Presbyterian Church. He is President and Owner of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Inc. and Tidewater Cemetery Corporation and he serves on the Virginia State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.
